WiS Meeting Minutes – June 1, 2019
In attendance: Cindy, Vlora, Andrea, Ellen, Jadi
Chair: Vlora
Minutes Taker: Jadi
Writing Prompt: A name you don’t recognize, in a language you don’t know, appears in your list of contacts. You delete it, but it appears again the next day. And then things get really weird.
Business:
- Dates for fall and winter meetings were set. These are 14 September, 12 October, 9 November, 7 December, and 11 January 2020. The August meeting will be at Cindy’s garden; she will send out an email announcing the date. Andrea will contact DAZ to add these dates to their calendar.
- Since our website was hacked, we cannot post internally. Until the issue is solved, contact will be via email.
Andrea reminds people that the check list of tasks and responsibilities is a reference tool and not meant to intimidate or scare off members. - If you are concerned about an issue, please speak up and it will be placed on the agenda.
Our next reading is tentatively set for 19 October, Saturday, at Dreigroschentheater. The theme as suggested by Erica will be The Kindness of Strangers.
- Andrea will check with Helen Pavel to see if the date is free.
- We will try reading on Saturday rather than Friday and see what the audience size is.
- Please state if you would like to read.
- A decision on music accompaniment (or not) will take place at a later meeting. We discussed music to open and close the reading, as well as to indicate the start and end of the break.
- Vlora has offered to MC.
- The possibility of an open mike reading was discussed.
Our next meeting is 6 July. The prompt for July comes from the work for critique that Jadi brought today: “If we’re lucky, sometimes we connect with people for brief periods that resonate beyond their life spans.”
